Let's just overlook the fact that it's been more than a month since my last post and say"hurray, it's almost Christmas!"
We have been having fun, despite a rather dramatic GI-bug that leveled three of the four of us for most of a week. Knock wood, we are all healthy (for) now.
The first two are different attempts at getting a shot for our Christmas card, which ultimately printed a bit blurry despite the fact that the original photo was in-focus. In the second one, Grace was setting up the shot for Steve. What you can't tell is that it was freezing, as in FREEZING, as in the real-feel temperature was single digits. The kids were troopers. Incidentally, it's become clear that Grace is the only true New Englander among us... she can tolerate much colder temps than the rest of us. Gloves? Hat? Pants? Nah. (Even on the coldest days, she prefers skirts.)
Decorating the Christmas tree. Those tree lights just might be what motivates Henry to start moving. He has a slow-motion scoot now.
There was a snowstorm over the weekend. We didn't end up with nearly as much snow as the local weather hype might have predicted. It was just a couple inches, but enough to make for lovely ambience while we watch Elf and made Christmas cookies. We met up with one of Grace's friend's and she LOVED sledding. She wanted to go faster faster faster. Maybe next storm we will head over to the "big" hill on the Common. I was so proud of myself for remembering to get a sled (okay cheap plastic toboggan) before it actually snowed. It was so fun to see so many neighborhood kids out playing. Such a fun sense of community.
There are no words for this one.
