A good reminder

Another good video:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDDWvj_q-o8.

Steve sent me this the other day after watching it in a training.  It was a powerful reminder to me of just what kinds of things happen at his work.  Sometimes when he's stuck at work, late again, I get so annoyed (at the system, not at him - goodness knows he would be home with us if he could be).  I forget that he is, literally, saving lives.

But not only was this a good reminder of what all health care workers are really dealing with every day, it's a good reminder of the compassion we need for one another in any setting.  That lady who seems annoyed that my stroller is taking up the whole elevator?  Maybe she's dealing with something painful.  And that man who just cut me off?  Perhaps he's distracted or in a hurry because of a family crisis.  We never know.
