Summer in the East Bay

Big treat a few weeks ago. When we had just about had it with the fog and unusually cool summer even for SF, the Greats (my Aunt Kristie and Uncle Hilary) invited us to spend the day at their home (we call it the spa because of the gorgeous backyard renovation they did recently) in the East Bay. It was sunny and in the 80s (I had to check the weather 4 or 5 times to believe we'd be okay in summer attire).

We had lunch at a sidewalk cafe, most of which Grace spent yelling about the dog statue down the block. Luckily, Great Aunt Kristie is super nice and took her over to check it out.
Then, we headed back to the spa for some bubble blowing...
And eventually, Great Uncle Hilary came home from work. The minute Grace sees him she tends to glue herself to him.
Not pictured is the chance to enjoy iced (not hot!) coffee and the excellent dinner Uncle Hilary grilled. Thank you for a great day! We will be back soon.
