Because newborns sleep on their backs, it is very difficult for them to develop the neck muscles necessary to lift their head leading to the solution - the vile ritual of tummy time. Gracie Mae had her first tummy time on her third day of life and was able to lift and turn her head - way to go girl!

She's so darling!! Brings back memories of our girls being so small! Just realized that Grace's middle name is Mae. I love that name, and was planning on naming Alyssa that. Both Graton and I have grandmothers who have Mae as a middle name. We ended up going with Alyssa Rose, but I still kind of wish we'd done Alyssa Mae.
